Is there any way to replace instances of a global variable en masse while also setting up connector panes?

I ended up finding out that you can actually achieve the desired behavior, just do the following:

1. Open your global variable front panel:

2. Right click the one you want to replace with a new VI, and click "Find Global References":

3. Click "Replace With" and select your new VI.
