Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I was answering a Q for toronto when I looked at his VI. It appears that the name that shows up on the conncetor pane is the caption and not the name. If this is as it appears, this could reak havoc on app's that rely on the control/indicator names being static.

The link to the Q follows.

So what do you think, bug or feature?

Ben

6.1 and 7.0 both have the same behavior: the label shows up on the VI's diagram, but the caption shows up on the connector. I usually use captions for additional instructions for a boolean slide or toggle switch. But if that switch is wired to the connector pane, I swap the label and the caption. So the "label" on the terminal on the diagram isn't as concise, but the connector pin is.
I don't know why NI put the caption on the connector. I just swap it as a workaround.

Thanks for the reply AlS.

I think I have learned something today.
