Issues with Clear GPIB Device vi hanging

I'm having a problem communicating with a fieldpoint module using an Ethernet to GPIB converter to a GPIB to RS-232 converter. I have an intermittent issue where the DevClear sub vi will just hang and then you won't be able to communicate with the module.

Hi Aceng,

The DevClear command should just clear a single device (or all devices if no address is specified).  Does it work properly some of the time and only hang occasionally?  Is there any consistent pattern that causes the hang?  You may want to run an NI-Spy capture to read the bus communication.

Are you using a National Instruments GPIB to Serial controller and GPIB to Ethernet controller?
