JavaScript and HTML with LabVIEW Web Services, unable to access the page outside localhost

Hi everyone !

I don't have much experience in LabVIEW, and basically none in HTLM/JS, I tested the following tutorial https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Web-Development/Getting-Started-Series-Simple-JavaScript-and-HTML-w... which worked remarkably well.

The next step would be to make this web service accessible from computers outside my local network.. I tried modifying the URL to include my ipv4 address but, obviously, it didn't work.

I don't know if it's an easy step or if that requires a whole new level of programming/networking.

The comments on this tutorial about an internet access are talking about cRIOs.. but I'm not sure how that would be relevant since its not a hardware issue at this point.. at least that's my guess .

If anyone had the same issue, I'd be glad to hear you story !

Hi,

the PC which is hosting the Web Service has to be accessible from the internet. So you have to host it like a normal web page. You can not "tunnel" from the web via router to your local PC.

VPN or DirectAccess should also work.
