Keithley sourcemeter resets itself out of 4 wire voltage sense back to 2 wire sense when performing a measurement

Hi Ben,

forget the stars - I am old enough that I do not need these things.... - but it might be that "Proven Enthusiastic Veterans" and/or "LabVIEW Champions" need it ???

I think the code works as expected - but where is your email-addr. ? - send it pls. to me @ web.de

In addition I have a very "handy" thing for you - have a look to attached pic. - since last week I have an
"integrated garden fork" in my left wrist - thatswhy I sit at home and have time for reading this forum.

Inline-skating can cause problems............. - but ......... no risk - no fun !!!

Regards
Werner

And thank you for specifying that was a skating accident.

I wear carpal tunnel braces on both hands and at first glance I thought you may have being doing too much "un-protected wiring".

Did Keithley get back to you?

Yes they did.  The driver does support setting the instrument into 4 wire sense (via one of those esoteric commands that are hidden in the structure),  but the instrument still reset itself to two wire mode.  Indeed, it does some quite unexpected things one 4 wire has been invoked.

Keithley are having another look at the issue.  They have said that there is a problem with the driver.  I'll keep you posted.

Hi Dave,

one more idea - maybe  a workaround........ on order to set the SMU into 4-wire-sense-mode.

The K2400-SMU is set into 4-wire-mode by  GPIB command      :SYST:RSEN ON;

and back to 2-wire-mode by    :SYST:RSEN OFF;    try to send the command above in front of

the sub.vi, where you want to measure the Voltage ( via VISA - GPIB - write ).

Find as attachment Frontpanels and Diagrams dropped into EXCEL-File, how I have tested

Accumulators for one of my colleagues, who needs to know if this accu is still o.k. for use

during long time flight with a glider and recording Position-Data from GPS-System.

If you want to test these vi's --- let me know.

Werner
