Hi all again..
my last question will be about L1, L10 and L90 unweighted measuremtents that I am asked to calculate based on a TDMS file with measurements....Could any one provide me with some advice on how to do this and a bit of a background of what this is?
Thanks

So... I believe we can safely ask NI Staff to stop referring to the forums as "Support" Forums.
Aris, I understand the basic principles of what you're asking - but I don't know if there's something in Labview that can calculate this easily, if no other suggestions pop up, please msg me and I'll try and knock something together,

At the top it says NI Discussion Forums.
When I wanted support from NI, I called them.

Forgive me here NYC - but for the last (at least 3 times) I've rang NI for help relating to something I don't know in labview, they've always reffered me to the "Support Forums", strangely always quoting the same line that the support line is strictly for bugs relating to their application/instrumentation suite, and that their Support service is not to be used as a teaching mechanism for learning new tricks in Labview... although they're darn quick to point that you can purchase 3 day training courses.....
My company also hosts a valid support contract too.

The problem here is that the question wasn't about LabVIEW or even any NI products.
It was a question about L1-L10-L90 measurements, whatever that is supposed to be. The post was lacking in any details of what they are looking for, what that even means, or what it has to do with LabVIEW. The appropriate thing to do is search the web and find resources that can explain it.

I have never had that problem in the multiple times I have called NI over the past 15+ years.
And, they are right in that their support service is not to be used to LEARN about LabVIEW.
If you want that, yes, take their classes.
Based on many of the questions I have seen here, I am not surprised that people are using the NI support to solve their classwork or workplace assignments. It is very obvious that these people need to take a LabVIEW course or two.

Perhaps I've just been unlucky with the Support chaps, but in the time of need when I needed them for help/advice, it's always fallen on deaf ears.
My personal opinion is with these things, try dam hard to fix/resolve it yourself (good old google), and at last resort, ask for help (be it friends, colleagues, forums or contacting the experts at NI).
I find that the courses (which I'm sure people find inheritantly usefull), didn't go into enough detail into what I needed and since I've found a mixture of Trail & Error and google go well together.
Just my two cents...
