LINEAR MAPPING OF INPUT

Hi all,

                a basic problem about linear mapping of inputs insome defined range. problem is explained in the attached image. Any help would be appreciated.

                         I didnt mean that somebody work out my problem. All i asked if any body have a hint would help me. I had good intention of learning something here thats it.

Think of it this way.

You have a range of 0->100 for pressure and -5->5 for the voltage.

Looking at the sizes of the range you have 100atm increase for a 10V increase. (as per the question)

It's linear so the you'd have 50atm after an increase of 5V (from -5) (as per the question).

 

Based on this, (and ignoring labview completely), how would you convert a voltage to a pressure?

Once you determine this, converting to labview will be simple.

As the previous poster says, ignore LabVIEW for a moment. On a piece of graph paper draw the two ranges, the pressure on one axis, the voltages on another. Now use the basic algebraic formula for finding a point on one axis if you know the corresponding value on the other.
