LLBs Now Open in Internet-Explorer (IE7)

Hello All,

This seems to be related to my install of IE7 (Microsoft high-priority update). Whenever I double-click on an LLB now, an IE7 window with the LLB's VIs opens up. It seems to still work fine, but I'd prefer to have them open up the old way in Windows Explorer.

I'm using Labview 8.0.1 if that matters.

Try checking the "Enable Windows Explorer for LLB files" option under "Tools>>Options>>Environment.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, the problem persists.. It was all OK before I installed IE7, so I unchecked the "open LLBs in explorer" option, rebooted the machine, then rechecked the option and rebooted again. It still brings up an IE7 window when I double-click an LLB. It does show all the VIs in the LLB within that IE7 windows though.

Here is what I found out from this site.

Previous versions of Internet Explorer share certain components with Windows Explorer and both applications were able to emulate the other giving the appearance of being a single application. Windows Internet Explorer 7 is now completely separate from Windows Explorer.

So even if you manually specify Windows Explorer as the application to open the LLB files, by selecting “Open with” explorer.exe, it will still open it with Windows Internet Explorer 7
