I've been using LV2010 since it was released on a project. Everything worked great. I installed LV2011 Friday
and the PNA I'm using quit responding. Its like its not even in the system.
I upgraded to LV2011 on a different project and the PNA worked fine afterwards.
The error message is something like "Device not present or insufficient location information".
I double checked the address string and went over all of the code. It is exactly as it was before I
installed LV2011.
Also on a side note... I tried the project in LV2010 (from a backup) and now it doesn't work either. I'm guessing LV2011
overwrote something?
I can't post any code, but I'm using the Phase III VI library (I don't remember where I got it, maybe it came with the network analyzer).
That shouldn't be a problem though because the code fails on the 'Open Visa' primitive.
Any ideas?

Were you using an alias for the device, or a full resource location? If you were using an alias have you verified the alias is there in MAX? You could try recreating the alias.
Did you try performing a repair on the NI-VISA installation, or simply uninstalling and reinstalling it? That sometimes fixes these kinds of issues.
What interface are you using? Serial, GPIB, TCP/IP?

Full resource location (ie: "TCPIP0::192.168.100.40::hpib7,16::INSTR").
The device does not show up in MAX and I have reinstalled NI-VISA. GPIB (as you can see from the location).
I suppose I should have reinstalled LV2011 before posting here. That may fix it. I thought that maybe someone else
has had the same issue.

Hi Wayne,
This is a known issue being tracked in Corrective Action Request #331189. We have a beta version of the fix we can provide you to validate that our changes fix your particular issue. Please send me a private message so I can provide you with those files.
What OS are you using?

The beta fix you gave me worked. Thanks!
No more head shaped dents in the walls.

Glad to hear! This fix will go into the next released version of NI-VISA, which we're targeting for later in Q1 this year. Keep in mind that date is tentative and subject to change.
