LV 5.0 to 8.6

I should have checked the publication date before ordering Jeffrey Beyon's "LabVIEW Programming, Data Acquisition and Analysis" with CD.  I'm using the student edition of LV 8.6; all the examples, etc., on the CD are LV 5.0.  I'm not asking for anyone to upgrade/convert the many VIs on the CD.  Rather, I'm thinking of installing the evaluation copy of LV 5.0 from the CD.  What might be the best way for me to view or recreate the LV 5.0 VIs.  I know LV 8.6 will print the front panel and block diagram of VIs.  Does LV 5.0 do likewise?  I'm thinking I could print, in LV 5.0, those VIs I'm most interested in, then re-create them in LV 8.6.

Will there be a problem installing an older version of LV onto a computer (Win Vista, 32 bit) that already has a newer version?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Hey,

LV 5.x should work on XP or VISTA, well on my VISTA system it works.

And yes, you can print the VI Documentation in a quite similar way you know it from newer LV Versions.
