LV2010 : bug in write express vi ?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi

I have a software that works fine in LV8.6 and I had the (wrong ?) ideea to upgrade it to LV 2010. After making an exe with LV2010 this program does not run anymore (the error is coming from the save to file express vi).

I can reproduce this error on two different computers (LV 2010 with or without the F4 patch, before and after full reinstallation of LV 2010, french Win32 XP, SP3).

Can you confirm this error as well by doing this  :

Make a new vi

Add to this vi an express vi for writing to a file (I attached mine here).

Recompile it (ctrl+shift+arrow)

the vi is now broken and many errors appear (the vi's with errors are password protected).

alternatively, without recompiling, make an exe : does it work ?

thanks

Your VI opens just fine for me without errors.  I don't know which VI's you are referring to that you say are password protected.

I also duplicated your steps with a blank VI.  Again, no problems.

Of course I'm using English Windows and LabVIEW.  So if you are having problems, perhaps it is tied into either French Windows or French LabVIEW.

hi

after recompiling (by using ctrl+shift+arrow) the vi breaks and there are errors inside the express vi and those subvis are password protected. if it's related to the french version I would change to english one (hope there is no problem with licensing and all)

thanks

Hello,

The NI support engineers helped me found the problem. It is related with french and german version of LV2010. For those who have the same problem, here is the solution :
