LV5.0 unhide all control

I have to change a old, very nested VI in LabView 5.0. For better understanding its function I want to unhide all hidden controls and indicators, so I can look at all the local and global variables. I searched the web, forum, quickhelp and tried out almost the whole menu. But I did not found a such function Smiley Sad

" But I did not found a such function "

Which is expected since that function did not exist and all new solutions to this same challenge depend on control references which are not available in LV 5.0.

If you really just want to have a peek then you may concider down loading the demo versio nof LV 8 onto a seperate machine and then open the app in LV8. Do your looking and then return to the original machine with the understanding you acquired.

Thanks a lot. This is not so easy to handle but better than despairing of staring into the screen and understanding not much Smiley Indifferent

Hi Hardware,

I know how you feel. I do exactly that type of work on occation. You should see some of the stuff that crosses my desk. I used to cover my screen when the compnay owner walked past and I was viewing the code. I don't have to hide it anymore but I do giggle when I hear our rookies saying "I did not write this!"

Highlight the block diagram of the vi (including all terminals), copy it,  and then paste it (in the block diagram) of a new vi.  The controls/indicators will be visible in the new vi.

Hope it works

Unfortunately it doesn't work because of the local variables which are not copied out Smiley Sad
But thanks for the endeavors to assist.

as I said, select all the code (everything) of the block diagram, including terminals, local variable, "attribute nodes", copy it and paste it in the block diagram of a new vi.

I just tried it and it works.
