LV6.1 win2000 and PCMCIA serial card conflicts

We are using Quatech PCMCIA dual serial card and com1 on back of computer to read in string from 2 pieces of equiptment. Hyperterminal reads card fine (com 4&5), but will not work through LV. Also, serial read fails when batteries on equipment fall below rating. any ideas???

1) With card attached, go into MAX and hit refresh (F5). Com port should show up. Make sure the com numbers shown in MAX are what you want.

2) Change the bateries. The spec on RS-232 says levels must be plus and minus 12 volts. Some devices will tolerate lower (+-3 volts in some cases) but not all.
