LV7.1 upgrade: bad CDs?

I was getting ready to upgrade to LV7.1 from 7.0 but have gotten information from the "Info LabVIEW Mailing List" that some folks are having problems with the install. One person reported receiving a second LV7.1 package with a letter stating to destroy the first kit and to reinstall if I was already using the update. Can NI comment on this and how do we know whether to proceed with install and / or wait for second shipment?

Sincerely,

Don

Hello!

When our 3rd-party distributor shipped out the SSP fulfillment for some LabVIEW editions, they made a clerical mistake and sent the shipments to the right companies, but the wrong end-users. So, at small companies, the customer often received the shipment, but many customers did not.

In order to ensure timely receipt of the upgrades to all those affected, new kits were shipped to all those affected. The CDs in the first set were in no way faulty - they simply may not have been delivered to the correct person. The choice to ship to everyone was made to ensure that we could accurately track licensing/serial #s for support issues and future ordering - the original kits have been invalidated. As such, we asked that customers destroy the first kit, wh
ich had incorrect serial/license # info.

Thank you for your patience with this issue, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.
