Hi Flash,
Lets start with the CAR #.
I reported this bug and was given CAR 190920.
So what it the right CAR# ?
Saving by way of LV 8.6 is the best work-around if you have LV 8.6. another way to get it back-saved (is rediculous, but does work) is to;
1) Document all of your events so you know what they were regitserd for and the options etc as free lables in each event state.
2) Replace the event structure with a stacked sequence.
3) Back save
4) Replace the Stacked seq with an event structe and manullay reconfigure all of the events.
So....
There is another way to work-around the bug, but I don't like it.

I'm having the same problem trying to save back to version 8.5. Maybe NI could quickly create and post a very restricted version of 8.6 that everyone can use for only saving to a previous version. In the mean time, I'll get out my 8.6 evaluation DVD and load it up. I ALWAYS save evaluation discs just in case something like this comes up. They have saved me more than once.

Hi,
Actually there is workaround for that but the issue with that is if there is event structure in the VI we need to define all the events again once we save it to 8.5 or lower version.....anyways something is better than nothing :).......

Hi Ben,
Recently I tried this work-around which you have mentioned in the thread, but it doesnt work fine even though i am not using any event structures in the VI.
Is there any other work around for this solution. All i am using is Stacked sequence; case structure, for loop and while loops.
Cheers,
Sail

Maybe try copying/pasting your block diagram into a new VI and try the workaround again. This has been fixed in later versions of LabVIEW, if it still doesn't work you can submit your VI to this thread to have someone help you downconvert it.
