I've noticed that none of the Ctrl-Key shortcuts used in the Quick Drop menu work. For example, Ctrl-T doesn't move the terminal labels and Ctrl-R won't remove and rewire. Is there a hidden setting that I have missed?
Thanks!

How are you trying to use the Remove and Rewire shortcut, for example? Do you select the block diagram objects and then press Ctrl-Space, Ctrl-R?

In a past LabVIEW release, I remember that the installation of LV Speak would cause Quick Drop Keyboard Shortcuts to not work. I haven't heard of this issue affecting LabVIEW 2011, but I thought I'd mention it.
Another thing you can try is renaming your LabVIEW.ini file to LabVIEW.bak and restarting LabVIEW...perhaps there's an errant INI setting?
I can't think of anything else that would cause this.

yes, I'm using the ctrl-space then ctrl-[hotkey] process.

I didn't install LVSpeak with this version of LabVIEW (I'm looking forward to the newer version what it becomes available). I did rename the INI file and did a quick test -- the hotkeys work. I will troubleshoot the INI file and see what's what.
Thanks!

QDKS use an INI entry to define non-default shortcuts:
QuickDropKeyboardShortcutMappings=...
If something is funky with that INI entry, it could cause the QDKS to function incorrectly. I'd start there.

I am just now encountering the same problem, only renaming the INI file didn't do the trick like above. As a matter of fact, the INI key "QuickDropKeyboardShortcutMappings" doesn't even exist in either the renamed (bak) or the newly created ini file.
Since I have grown to rely on the handy QD shortcuts this is starting to really annoy me...
I have checked that I can open all the files in the respective LV version (using 2011+2013 and sometimes got these mixed up with the newly saved shortcut VIs when distributing them to all the 4 LV-Quickdrop folders (x86 and x64)).
Funny thing is, the VI lists in the QD plugins folder and the DQ window, shortcut tab, greatly differ, see pictures attached. Any hints? Otherwise I am going to reinstall since a repair didn't help either. Tried that already as well.

I noticed in your second screenshot that the only shipping shortcut listed is "Insert", and there doesn't appear to be a scrollbar on the listbox. Why are all the rest of the shipping shortcuts missing?
With missing files like that, I think a reinstall probably is your best bet. Make sure the LabVIEW folder is empty before the reinstall, so that any existing custom plugins are removed, in case one of them is causing the problem. Might not be a bad idea to back up and remove any custom plugins you have installed in the [LabVIEW Data]\Quick Drop Plugins folder as well.

Hi Darren,
thanks for your input - then I will go for the reinstall. Since there is still my office pc with all the shortcuts integrated and working, I guess they can work as the backup that you suggested. It is the place from where I tool the QD VIs in the first place. As they function correctly on that machine I suppose I messed up when transferring them to my laptop. The repairing might have ruined all afterwards.
Best Regards
Falk

One other thing I thought of...if you accidentally saved plugins from an older LabVIEW version in a newer LabVIEW version, they wouldn't show up in the list. And, there was a bug in LabVIEW 2012 and previous where, if one plugin was busted (by being broken, saved in a newer version, etc.), then the plugin loading mechanism would bail without checking any other plugins. This bug was fixed in LabVIEW 2013.
