LabVIEW 8.0 doesn't start anymore

I've been using LabVIEW 8.0 for the last several months without a problem.  Just recently I've been getting error boxes stating that it can't find the file, but would load ok anyways.  Now my computer just hangs when I try to start LabVIEW.  What's going on?  I've tried uninstalling and installing, but no luck.

Try deleting LabVIEW.ini from the install directory (or just rename it) and try to launch labview.
How about other NI products like NI MAX?  Will it launch ok?

Are you seeing these error boxes when loading LabVIEW or opening a LabVIEW file?  Is there an error code?  Do you have a error log to submit when LabVIEW crashes?

Could you be a bit more specific under what conditions you get what kind of problem. Try all of the following:
  1. double-click in a *.vi in explorer.
  2. double-click a *.llb in explorer.
  3. double-click a *.lvproj in explorer (if you have a project)
  4. Click on the LabVIEW shortcut in the start menu
  5. double-click LabVIEW.exe in the labview folder (e.g.: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.0)

You might also want check your hard disk for errors.

Sorry for reviving thread 5 years old but... maybe there are others out there having boss with no intention at all to upgrade Labview 8.0...

Anyhow, same problem as in subject, solved deleting labview.ini. Thanks for suggestion.
