LabVIEW 8.6 broke my Mixed Signal Graphs...

I'm finding some problems with 8.6 this morning :(.  This time it is with Mixed Signal Graphs.

Try this:

Open a blank VI.  Place a mixed-signal graph on the front panel w/ nothing connected.  Adjust the legend width with the mouse using the hand tool.

Notice, the Y-Axis labels moves appropriatly.

Add another plot area to the Mixed Signal Graph control.   Now try to adjust the legend width.  On both the computer I've tried this on, the y-axis label does not move with the adjustment.

Any ideas on how I might correct this problem, or do I need to wait for an update from NI?

See attached image.

thank you!

I confirm your observation. The problem didn't exist under LV 8.5. I didn't find a workaround. I tried to play with "swap side" but things became even worse. Using the customize option led to more difficulties. I suppose you'll have to carefully decide of the graph size while in single graph area mode... 😞

I guess NI will come with an update or a "reset scale layout" option as in the "advanced" menu of the XY graph.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this.  I can reproduce this, and have reported it to R&D as Corrective Action Request #124118.

Thanks Jeremy.  I use the mixed signal graphs across all my applications.

Is there a chance of a hotfix being released for this issue, or will I have to wait for the next big release sometime this winter?

I can't make any promises on when there will be a fix unfortunately.  This issue is listed in the known issues document, and there is now a workaround listed as well.  See this link and search for 124118: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7324

Are you kidding me?  You released 8.6.1 without fixing this known issue.  Geze.  The workaround doesn't seem to work for me.  I adjusted the digits shown to 3 without hiding 0's and now the scale is even more screwed up.  It looks like I'm going to have to find the right property nodes and get this thing reformatted.  I love this graph, but it has been a problem child since it was born.

Thanks for the motivation to finally install my beta 2009.  I can only hope you fixed it there...

It would be nice to see a fix to this problem and continue to improve the Mixed Signal Graph.  The flexability that this control provides to the end user at runtime is awesome.  Its sad that it has such a glaring visual bug.  I have to use alternative graphs until this bug is fixed and I'm starting to get impatient...

@mikema111 - The 2009 Beta contains the same bug.  I still HIGHLY recommend you use it, and as feedback for the beta point out that this bug still exists.

It appears that LabVIEW 9.0 (2009) fixes this bug.  🙂 🙂 🙂
