LabVIEW Licence Transfer

Can anyone tell me what their LabVIEW license says regarding
transferability? I have tried for years to get my company to buy
LabVIEW but since nobody has any first hand experience with it there
is a great deal of resistance. I would like to purchase it myself to
learn and be able to fully demonstrate but the cost is not practical
just for my personal use.

Occasionally I will see auctions with LabVIEW 5.1, 4.1, etc. at
reasonable prices. If I purchase these, can the license be
transferred? What about a Version 4.1 that claims to be unregistered?
Could this be registered and upgraded?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

There is the LabVIEW evaluation software available free of charge. The only problem is that it times
out 30 days after installation. But it does give
you 30 days to show your boss what you can do with it.

My guess is that you can not transfer a license. In the case where LabVIEW is unregistered, I am almost positive you could not register and then upgrade. You may want to contact NI at 512.683.0100 to check on this. They're really easy to work with.
