LabVIEW RT System hangs at startup

Hi,
I'm using a "desktop PC" as a target for LabVIEW RT 8.5.1.

The problem i have is that when I power on the desktop PC the system hangs after network configuration: it starts to display the CPU utilizations bars and hangs !
I have to reset the (not power off, but reset) to restart it, and it starts correctly. Sometimes it needs 4 or 5 resets before LabVIEW RT is ready.
Then the PC will run all the day with no problem until I power it off for a few minutes. Then I have to reset it 2-3 times before i can use it.

I reproduce the same behaviour on 3 PCs.
I tried to upgrade to LV 8.6 : Same problem.
I tried to configure the network address to fixed or DHCP : Same problem.
I tried to disconnect the network : Same problem.
I have a FPGA 7833 in the PC, i tried to remove it : guess what ... same problem.

I have no Vi Running, no auto-start Vi. This problem appears on a fresh install.

The PCs I use are Industrial computers based on Quad-core intel CPU with only 1 Go Mem and S-ATA Hard drive (configured in AHCI).

Is the ethernet chipset supported? Check this page: https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/08/requirements-for-desktop-pcs-as-phar-lap...
If not it might help to insert a PCI or PCI-e network card with supported ethernet chipset.

Although "random" behavior as you see it can't be explained by this...

Did you check the error logs on the RT target?

Yes i checked the network chipset and it is supported. But i also tried with a PCI ethernet card and i still have the same problem.
I checked the errlog.txt on the RT traget and it is empty.

Still searching ...

Might be worthwhile to check with different BIOS settings.
Although I still wonder what can cause random behavior.
We had a problem once with a RT target when on-board audio was enabled. Disabling it in BIOS solved the problem.
You can also try to disable other features that are not required (USB, other ports, probably for testing also multi-core CPU support).

If you have an IDE hard drive available I would suggest to try this as well.

How did you set up the systems? Did you use MAX or system replication?

Well... I made new tests: i removed all the NI PCI cards i have in my PC and it seems to start correctly now at the 1st power on.
I'll try to identify the PCI card that causes the problem.

By the way... i cannot try with IDE hard drive because my SBC only supports SATA.

Ok i found the problem...

I have a NI PCI-6517 in the PC that make the PC hang while starting up... I test it in another PCI slot, and then, no problem, everything is working fine.
I tested this on my 3 PCs and they works fine now.

Hope this can help someone in the future....

Good to know that it might depend on which PCI slot a card is mounted.
