Hello NI community,
I am fairly new to LabVIEW and have been trying to load numeric data from an excel spreadsheet to a LabVIEW VI.
After doing some reading online, I figured using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit would be the most convenient option for me. (I have LabVIEW version 2020 and LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit (32 Bit) version 2020 as well).
However, I am getting a lot of broken dependency errors when I am trying to use VIs from the toolkit. For instance, if I try to run the 'Excel Report - Generate from Template.vi' example (found in LabVIEW's example finder), I get a long list of VI and Block Diagram errors. Here is a picture of the error box:
This is a snippet of the VI I am trying to run. As I mentioned earlier, it is an example provided by LabVIEW, so it makes me even more confused as to why it would not work even though I have all the requirements needed to run it.
I have tried to troubleshoot these errors by following various tips that have been shared by the NI community on this platform but nothing has worked so far. However, most people seem to have had issues with specific VIs that were "broken". I am getting that error for the whole LabVIEW library. If somebody knows what might fix this problem, please let me know.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Thank you!

This is the article I was trying to follow to debug the dependency errors:
https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019N7CSAU&l=en-US
However, when I tried to see the invoke node error message for a broken vi (a whole bunch of the are broken for me so I chose the one on top of the list to start - NI_Excel.lvclass:Excel Find and Replace (str).vi), I got the following error message:
Following the instructions on this message, I went to licence manager and while I see the Toolkit for MS Office listed on it, it seems to not be activated. Here is a picture of the window:
Clicking on the activate software button tells me that I do not have a license associated with my NI User Account. Pictured:
However, I do see the toolkit installed on NI Package Manager.
Could it still be possible that I cannot use the toolkit in spite of having it installed since I do not have the appropriate license needed to activate it?
If that is the case, what do I need to do to resolve this issue.
If something else seems to be the problem here, can you tell me what it might be?
Thank you!

Yes, it is quite possible you cannot use it if you do not have the appropriate license. You basically have two choices. Spend the money to get the license required or find an alternative way to do it. Perhaps only working with a CSV file.

I'm not sure of the current LabVIEW Licensing situation, but I believe the Base and Full Development System do not include the Report Generation Toolkit. You should contact NI for clarification and/or License Upgrade.

I had the same problem. Thank you for the solution. I extended my trial of the Report Generation Toolkit and this solved my problem.

You realize that the trial extension is only getting you 30 days or so of respite. After the trial extension is expired you will need to buy a license anyways or stop using the feature!
