Hey, I'm unable to find clear answers to these questions, about the LabVIEW Student Edition \(https://www.ni.com/en-in/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview-student-software-suite...).
For context, I am a recent high-school graduate and have a myRIO 1900 with a license for LabVIEW 2015 (without SSP). I'm trying to see if I can get a newer version of the software.

In order to use any edition of LabVIEW, you must have a valid LabVIEW license. "Student editions" typically involve an Academic license to the School (which is a non-trivial cost), and is only applicable if you are a valid student. If you are a "I am a recent high-school graduate and have a myRIO 1900 with a license for LabVIEW 2015 (without SSP)", then you (yourself) do not have a current valid license. If you go back to school (college) and the school has an academic license (and you enroll in a class that uses LabVIEW), you can probably run your school's version of LabVIEW software.
This topic has been previously discussed here.
Getting a system set up for both LabVIEW and support for the myRIO can be a tricky endeavor (I've been struggling for a few weeks with this). If your myRIO works with the software you have, I'd advise to go with what you've got.

There is now a license option available for LabVIEW that is called "Community Edition", which is basically LabVIEW Professional with a few things added in for the hobbiest (like support for running LabVIEW code on RPI, for instance). You just have to agree that it will be for non-commercial, non-academic use. (See the license agreement for details.)
Just go to the LabVIEW download page and select LabVIEW Community Edition. It's free.
Edit:
Oops, I think myRIO is a separate package that probably you have to pay for.

The statement "then you (yourself) do not have a current valid license" is probably not true. NI had donated me a myRIO and an associated LV license (because I was a sixth grader at the time and manage to convince a very kind NI staff that I'd make good use of their products).
I've recently enrolled at a university, but it does not allow us to activate LV on our personal computers, and I only have my old personal license to go by.
I, of course, understand if there is no way for me to use a recent version of LV with my hardware, because I've not rightfully paid for it or been given a license. That said, I just want to make sure that I'm not missing out on any possible way to (legally) use a recent version of LV with my myRIO.

My apologies! As an academician, I am astounded that your University does not allow its students to load LabVIEW on their PCs under the University's Academic license. I've have many students come to me to ask if they could do this, and I always told them to bring their PCs to me, not because I had "Professor Powers", but because LabVIEW installation can be complex and complicated, particularly if you try to "load everything".
I recommend you try to find a Professor who teaches LabVIEW (and probably knows his way around your University and their licensing policy) and see if she (or he) can give you some assistance or suggestions.
