LabVIEW Transfer and save to prior version

Hi All

I am trying to save a LabVIEW Project file that has one vi and lots of dependencies which are sub vis. I am trying to save this from an N drive to a USB stick to use my code on another machine.

Once this is on the other machine, I plan to save this to LabVIEW 2017 (from 2018).

I am able to save the file onto the drive but when I open it I get an error message saying that I don't have access to the file.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong or how to do this.

Best

Andrew

Can you elaborate exactly what the "access" problem is: Are you talking about a permission issue or missing files?

Do you really include all dependencies? (The project file (*.lvproj) does not contain any VIs. It just knows where the VIs are and how the project is configured.)

Hi altenbach

Thank you for your reply.

It is a permission issue and it will show a missing file issue as well.

Can you "read" it using e.g. notepad? Is this from a third party toolkit that requires licensing? Are you using any unusual antivirus? Can you check the USB drive for errors?

No I don't have any unusual antivirus and the USB drive seems to be ok.

I was able to read it using the notepad.
