LabVIEW and LabVIEW RT possible versions for PXI controllers

Hi.

I would like to configure and run application on PXI target controller.

Available versions

Windows 10

LV 7 , LV 8, LV 8.6, LV 2014

DAQmx 8.6, DAQmx 9.3.5

Hardware PXI 1042 (chassis) PXI 8187 PXI 6289

LVRT 9 is on the PXI target.

I installed LV 8.6 and DAQmx 9.3.5 on hostPC and from where i installed DAQmx9.3.5 to PXI Target.

On the MAX 5 i can see the chasiss 1042 and its card 6289 and test panel is running acquiring on signal from channel 1 of SCC68 connector box.

But the problem is i cannot see real time application biuilding option on LV8.6 initial dialogue. So that i can design vi and make it startup on target.

Where is my fault ? Can anyone please suggest step by step installation procedure and versions.

Thanks

But then it means, that you don't have installed LabVEW Real-Time Module - you need it to build/create RT applications.

The first thing I'm noticing is that everything you're going to be doing is outside the realm of a supported installation.

With Windows 10, you'll want to be in LabVIEW 2015 or newer to have the smoothest (also written as tested) experience.  This becomes especially true with drivers involved.  That said, let's take a look at what you're doing.

At the base level, you're going to want to have LV, the RT Module, and likely the PXI platform software installed on your PC.  You'll want to have versions that all match.  With that, you can install the matching software set onto the PXI to get the RT PXI setup.

Once that's working, you can take the time to look at the DAQmx piece.  There's no value in doing that before you have the RT target setup in a way that you can configure a simple VI.  Work through baby steps when you're running into issues.  Don't start trying to get the entire system to work.  That way, you can focus your efforts on one problem at a time and know exactly where the problem lies rather than guessing out of a list of potential locations.

So which version should i install?

I am confused regarding versions. Versions must be exactly same or target can have older than host ?
