LabVIEW code 3: could not load front panel

When loading an LabVIEW 7.1 FDS VI into LabVIEW2010 FDS I get an error:

"load error code 3: could not load the front panel" .

This seems to happen with a lot of my VI's but not all of them.

These VI's  load and run perfectly in the LabVIEW 7.1 environment, but generate the error

when I try to load them into LabVIEW 2010 (SP1).

All I get from the NI.com pages is the suggestion that the VI's are saved without front panels,

(which isn't the case because 7.1 can load them)

or the VI's are corrupt (which I think isn't the case for the same reason).

To complete the story, LabVIEW7.1 is running on a windows XP system and LabVIEW 2010 is running on Windows7 (32 bit)

Does anybody have I good suggestion as how to load these VI's into LabVIEW2010 ?

There is a known problem with front panels getting lost in LV2011 that might exist in LV2010 as well. Post one of the VIs that is having problems (preferably one that doesn't have any subVIs if possible). Have you called NI about your problem?

Sorry can't post in this forum, I'd have to make a special VI having this behaviour.

I seems to be related to VI's including framegrabber code (being an old NI1409 grabber)

As far as NI is concerned, I have no SSP anymore, so they won't look into my problem.

In the early days, even without an SSP one could get help from NI.

If the problem remains I will try and construct a VI (with LabVIEW7.1) and "hopefully" has the code-3 error

in LabVIEW 2010, that one I can post in this forum.

Anyway, thanks for your respons,

I am going to do some checks ...

I found a workaround myself:

I had another LabVIEW2010 system which was able to read the troubled VI's (?),

did a mass-compile for all VI's a had, and,

after that, the first LabVIEW2010 system can read all VI's without any problem.

I have no idea what caused this strange behaviour,

but as said, I can move on ..
