Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has a LabVIEW Driver (version 8.2) for the Sony XCD-X710 camera?

Hi Nika,

The Sony XCD-X710 Camera is a IEEE 1394 Firewire Camera, and the Vision Acquistion Software has the driver that you will need. It is avaliable for download here:

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1099/lang/en

This is the latest version of the driver and is compatible with LabVIEW 8.2:  http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6B55FF09D1FBD3108625719600650B7C?OpenDocument

Also, note that for the IMAQdx drivers that are used to communicate with your camera after 30 days the evaluation version will expire and you will be required to have a license to use them.

Cheers!

Thanks for the link. Another question: how can I alter the existing examples so that video taken by the camera can be saved to a file. I didn't see a VI that could do this.

Hi Nika,

You can use the example called Grab and Save to AVI.vi found in Hardware Input and Output » IMAQ » File Input and Output. Just replace the IMAQ VI's with the ones for IMAQdx.
