LabVIEW readings from a DMM too slow

Solved!
Go to solution
Right now I am working on a program that takes readings from a multimeter and puts them into a graph. The multimeter is taking readings at 100 per second, while LabVIEW is only taking a number from the multimeter every five to six seconds. I am very new to LabVIEW so I am not sure if there is something in my program that is slowing it down or something that I can add to increase the frequency of readings taken. I have attached the program file I'm using and the multimeter is a Tektronix DMM4020, though I don't think the problem is with the multimeter. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance. Rach

The device has an RS-232 port to usb cable for the PC. I'll try to attach the code again, it didn't attach the first time for some reason.

Attaching files is restricted to certain file types. Maybe you do not meet the filter? (if not, try to zip the files first!)

Additionally, there was an issue in this forum that previewing the post removes all attachements. Maybe, this issue is still present....

I've tried uploading the file in a zip folder, renaming the file, and taking a screen shot, and none of them will attach. Is there a way to change the block diagram to written code so I can paste it? Or should I just try describing it?

Do you get any error message when browsing your attachment? Is there an error when posting a message with an attachement? If so, what is that error?

I find it possible, that you have either a firewall or virus scanner active preventing you from attaching files. Please check that.

thanks,

Norbert

There is no error when I am browsing, trying to attach, or post something that should have an attachment. It simply reloads the post message page I am writing on and the document is still in the browse box unattached. I tried removing the firewall temporarily and it still will not attach to the message.
