LabVIEW's built-in SCC usage

What's the recommended way to set-up and use the built-in SCC for multiple projects?

Hello!

The best way to add projects to the built in SCC provider is to first configure the built in SCC provider ("tools->Source Code Control->configure SCC Options").  Once you have set up your built in SCC provider, you can add multiple projects though by launching the SCC provider.  Click "tools->Source Code Control->Launch SCC Provider" -- this will bring up the SCC provider interface.  With the built in SCC provider, you can add projects though the "Project->New Project" menu item.

You also consider a few things before using the built in SCC provider.  The built in SCC provider is only for versions of LabVIEW including and prior to LabVIEW 7.1.  If you choose to upgrade versions of LabVIEW it is recommended that you upgrade to an external SCC provider such as Perforce.  The built-in SCC is useful for small projects of about 10 VIs with one developer. It is a useful tool if there is not another SCC system already in place and it is a small project. It is not meant for large project development or for projects that have strict configuration requirements because it lacks the features and benefits of many of the commercial SCC products available.  For these reasons, if you are plan on having multiple developers, large projects, or upgrading LabVIEW in the future we do NOT recommend that you use the built in SCC provider.

Hope this helps!
