LabView - Can't use it after saving

I am new to labview and am trying to understand what's going on. I am using version 2009 (Professional) 64-bit with Windows 7 Pro 64. Basically, after I save the file, those little dots at the end of the objects that allow you to draw wires disappear and I am unable to draw wires on a saved file, but before saving everything works fine. Can you explain if I am missing something here? Thank you.

You mean you can no longer wire to objects on the diagram because the connectors don't show up? Could it be you disabled the auto-tool?

How does "saving" fit into all this. Do you keep the VI open, press save, and problems start? Do you save and then reload from disk?

Can you show a picture and maybe attach a small VI?
