Ray,
I have a few suggestions for you. First of all, download and install the latest version of DirectX from the Microsoft website. See if the crashes still occur. If they do, then uninstall LabVIEW from the Add/Remove programs option in the Control Panel. Then delete the LabVIEW folder on your hard drive, then open the registry (Start >> Run and type 'regedit). Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> Software >> National Instruments and delete the LabVIEW folder. Once you've done this, re-install LabVIEW...if necessary, install the 5.1.1 update after the installation. Then see if the crashes still occur. I doubt they will at that point.
As for what may have caused the crashes to start occurring, it may have been another software install that caused the problem...per
haps replacing or moving sensitive system DLLs.
I hope these suggestions help...please let me know if I can offer you any other assistance.
Have a pleasant day.
Sincerely,
Darren N.
