LabView needs ability to drag-out new frames from flat sequence and capture existing code on block diagram

It would be SOoooo useful if labview had the ability to place a flat-sequence around some code, then grab the edge and create a new frame ... capturing existing code as we increase the size of the new frame. I would call it "Frame Capture" or something. Click Alt+Shft and drag the edge of the frame to create the new frame and capture everything beneath the new frame.

As it is, we need to make a new frame, then drag the existing code into the frame, then fix all the broken wires. With what I'm talking about, you could have all your code on the Block Diagram, place the flat sequence, then grow the frames to capture automatically the code you want that's already there. Just a great solution to a tiny anoyance.

Hardcore programmers might think it serves me right for not pre-planning when I need a flat sequence. I think my innovation goes along with the ability to switch between flat and stacked sequences. Just pretty cool little feature that's makes proramming easier. If this thing already exists, please let me know!

Thanks.

Well, who needs sequences?

This is an idea, so it belongs into the ideas exchange.  I think it's already been suggested.

Thanks, I'm having a hard time navigating around quickly in the NI-Labview discussion universe. It's extremely hard to know where to go to ask/suggest stuff.

You got a link for newbies to the community? Maybe put a big red box on the front page for beginners to the community?

Hi  JFerrara,

That's definitely a useful thing to have, for future reference post and check ideas in the Ideas Exchange, which can be found at: www.ni.com/support  -> in the 'My Support Services' box on the right click on Discussion Forums (brings you here) then in the 'View All' box on the right click on 'LabVIEW Ideas'.

Thanks,

Deborah Y.
