LabView with Raspberry Pi..?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi

There is a tutorial for using LabView with Raspberry Pi in NI web site:

Getting Started with Raspberry Pi and LabVIEW Community Edition

Is it really working with Raspberry Pi  and Raspian OS?

I installed LabView into Raspberry Pi/Raspian but there was an error; ARM is not supported..

Should I change Raspian OS to Ubuntu?

BR, Ilkka

As far as I understand, you develop the application on your Windows PC and set up the Raspberry Pi as a target for your built application. You don't install LabVIEW on the Pi as you would your PC. You can follow the directions on the page you linked, in particular these ones. Step 1 refers to launching LabVIEW on the Windows PC.

  1. Launch LabVIEW Community Edition and open the Target Configuration Wizard from Tools»MakerHub»LINX»LINX Target Configuration.
  2. Select Raspberry Pi from the pull-down menu.
  3. Depending upon your network configuration, you may need to use the IP address rather than the host name. Update the IP address, username, and password as necessary.
  4. Press Connect to connect to the device. After a moment, you will see the screen update showing that the device connected.
  5. Click the Install Software tab.
  6. Click Install.
    • You will see the currently installed version, if any, and the latest available version.
    • Press Upgrade (or re-install) to start the process. This step can take several minutes to complete.
  7. Click ok to exit the wizard.

How closely did you follow the linked instructions? You install the community edition on your PC, not on the Pi. It will communicate with the PI via the linx toolkit.
