Labview 2010 and Database Conn Toolkit 1.0.1 compatable?

I really can't believe there are no answers to this but here goes:

I bought Labview 2010 (up from 8.5) and installed it with the connectivity toolkit ver 1.0.1. All SQL vis I nave written have errors pertaining to the 1.0.1 toolkit (can't open front panel, invalid or improperly licensed parts of the toolkit, etc.)

I have scoured the internet for 3 days and can't find 1 thing about whether LV 2010 is compatable with Connectivity Toolkit 1.0.1 or not.

I have a NI applications engineer looking into this as they HAVE NO CLUE if it is compatable.

So, either I am the only one on planet earth who uses the toolkit

OR

I have no exlanation why everyone else has no problems.

I have done this on 3 computers with the same result.

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

The answer is not, is not compatible.

Each version of LabVIEW has its own toolkits.

Thanks. I found out the hard way. NI should say so. It would have been nice. This is a great forum thanks to people like you!

Which Os do you use? I am using XP on my computer. And I have no problem loading the VIs. However my version is very old and belong to Labview 7.0 setup files but it is version 1.0.1 The database toolkit is very old. It could be something with OS compabilety. You could perhaps try the Labsql toolkit that is free.

Here is the link to to LabVIEW Module and Toolkit Compatibility Information. Have you asked your local NI office about this

I had a NI engineer work on this with the same conclusion. He was able to reproduce the problem with LV 2010 SP1 and Conn Toolkit 1.0.1. They are not compatible is the "official" answer. It would not surprise me if it were possible, but I cannot waste any more time. It is worth the $$$ to just buy the 2010 toolkit whick I have. It just kills me that nowhere on god's green earth is there anything published about the incompatibility.

The database toolkit is highly overprized. Many in this forum use the free labsql toolkit. And are very happy with it.

Hello acorec

I am sorry you are struggling with this issue and I wish to look into it further for you.  Is there any chance that you still have the service request number when you had on our applications engineers work on this previously?  That would be very helpful to me and would allow me to proceed much more quickly.  Please let me know and I will be in pursuit of a truly official answer.

Thank you for supporting National Instruments!

Sincerely,

Greg S.

Problem is I have over 20 very complex test systems with $25-30 Million/year of product going through. I use SQL server 2008 and barcoded test stations everywhere. I am the only labview engineer in the whole company. With all this, I could never re-write this stuff in my lifetime!  Believe me, the cost of the toolkit pays for itself in like 1 hour.

What you can do is to download and test the kit here. You will be given a 30 day trail. Then you can at least test before ordering it
