Hello
We are in the process of upgrading to Labview 2013 DS2. As a part of that test we have a 9074 chassis with a 9512 card in slots 1 and 2 and a 9870 card in slots 3 and 4. The cRIO is configured as shown in the attachment. All is well until i try and test the 9512 cards through the interactive test panel. When I run the interactive test panel a dialog box comes up saying i need to switch to configuration mode to install some drivers. I do that and the interactive test panel comes up and the motors move as commanded. After that i test the serial ports and they are fine. When i restart the cRIO though, the restart fails and i can't figure out why.
Labview 2013 and all drivers were installed from the August 2013 distribution and NI Softmotion was updated to 13.0.1 as was NI RIO (although the patch only shows up on the development system). The 9512 firmware is at 1003608. There are no VIs running.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello Steve,
I read up on the exception I found in your cRIO's log and it looks like the cause can be somewhat difficult to track down. Generally, it looks like the error can be related to corruption of the cRIO system files. We typically recommend formatting the cRIO and reinstalling all software as a first step. Can you still use the cRIO successfully with another host computer? Was everything working okay with previous versions of NI software?
I recommend giving our support engineers a call if you haven't already. You can reach us at 1-866-275-6964 to create a new service request.

Thanks for the quick response. I have tried reformatting the cRIO many times to try out different software combinations to see if that affected the outcome. Unfortunately, none of the combinations seemed to work although the error message was the same.
The cRIO has worked in the same configuration under Labview 2011. Unfortunately my computer is the only one available to test with, so i haven't been able to see if using another computer solves the issue.
I'll give the engineers a call.
Thanks

Unfortunately it looks like we'll be going back to an earlier version of Labview. The engineers can't help without a service contract and we don't have one in force.
thanks
