Labview 7.0 not working with Matlab 7.0???

I just installed Matlab 7.0 and now the Matlab scripts stopped working again. Did Mathworks once again change thier activex specification?

Hello!

You didn't describe what kind of problems you are experiencing, but it exist a well-known problem with LabVIEW 7 and Matlab 7 due to an update from Microsoft.

You can read more about it and how to fix it here:

Hello!

I'm sorry I was a bit sloppy. The problems are the same as when I upgraded from Matlab 6.1 -> 6.5. The problem is that LabView doesn't open the Matlab script server. I already replaced the matscript.dll with the latest verison 7.0.0.2 but that only helped to get Matlab 6.5 working.

Now with 7.0 it is the same all over again, Error 1047: "LabVIEW: LabVIEW failed to send variable to the script server."

Thanks for the answer anyway,

Hey!

No problem, I fully understand that it can be somewhat frustrating when problems like this one occur.

So it didn't fix your problem, when you replaced the dll? Because I read somewhere that someone got the same error message as you when working with LabVIEW 7 and Matlab 7 and it disappeared when upgrading the dll.

Hello!

No, when I was using Matlab 6.5.1 the fix (7.0.0.2) worked just fine but with Matlab 7.0 it does not. Unfortunately this is a big problem for me since this means that I have to use two versions of matlab. Labview does however pick the last opened application. So if I open 6.5.1 after 7.0 and then start Labview everything works just fine but vice versa I get error 1047.

Hello again!

Sorry for the delay, but I have discussed this with some colleagues... and we have more questions for you.

Is Matlab running when the VI is run? If so is the case you still get the error message?

It sounds like the Matlab server is not getting registered properly. Does Matlab function correctly otherwise? Does the script run ok if called from Matlab? Have you tried to re-install Matlab?

Cheers,
