Labview 8.2 and FPGA

I am using Labview 8.2 with a Compact Rio 9002 and 9101 chassis. I am going through the "Getting Results with CompactRio and Labview" tutorial under "Create a Project for a cRio Reconfigurable Embedded System" and cannot view FPGA target folder. However, the Comapct Rio is detected. The software that is installed in the cRio is:

Datasocket for LV RT 4.3
LV 8.0
Network Variable engine 1.0.0
NI-IR-da RT 1.0.2
NI-Rio RT 2.0.0
NI-serial RT 2.5.6
NI-VISA 3.4.1
NI Visa server 3.4.1
NI watchdog 2.1.4
Variable client support 1.0.0

Then when I try to update the software in the software wizard, it says base system 3.0 is required. Am I missing software? Can you help?

Thanks,
Jimmy P

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  I have been looking over your question and what it actually sounds like to me is that the software you need might not be installed on your actual computer instead of the software on your cRIO.  The software you will need is LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA Module, LabVIEW RT, and the NI-RIO driver.  Make sure that the RIO driver is installed last on your PC and this should make sure that you are able to add FPGA targets to your projects and you will be able to target them in your development.  Please try this out and let me know if it works.  Thanks!
