One thing that I would suggest if you can't even launch LabVIEW would be to try to repair the installation of LabVIEW. If you select Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, and select National Instruments Software and new dialog should pop up. Select LabVIEW 8 and then click repair. It will ask you for the resources that you used to install LabVIEW ( ie. the CD), so make sure you have that available. If that doesn't work then I might suggest uninstalling it and then reinstalling. After uninstalling and before reinstalling, copy the CD if you have one to your hard drive and install from there, just to make sure that this isn't causing an issue. Repost if you have any problems!
