I would expect questions similar to what you would see for CLA certification plus hardware. Depending on what the company is using, it might be DAQ, FPGA, GPIB, etc.

"What is your forum username?"

You can probably expect to talk about some of your previous LabVIEW projects, what architectures/communication methods you've used, what communications protocols you've used etc.

I would also expect some sort of practical test - asking you to solve a simple programming problem or interface with a device/instrument that the company uses. It's also quite common to be shown a piece of code to 'spot the mistake'/'what does this code do' or be shown some more complex code to review the code with the interviewer to discuss different/better ways of doing it.

For a DAQ question, I would expect you to explain or code a basic analog acquisition - setting the terminal configuration, sample rate, number of samples, number off channels. Using MAX, a project, or a VI for these settings. If it was me doing the interview, the use of the DAQ Assistant would not be acceptable for anyone other than a brand new user.

I would also expect that someone with two years of experience would be able to spell LabVIEW correctly. When I was hiring, resumes with it misspelled went right into the trash can.

I'l retell a story about one of my interview's.

FIRST- I can spell "LabVIEW" - as Dennis mentioned, If you cannot spell it, the resume goes in the "circular file"  (Trash- can)

I expect to be asked about my knowledge of LabVIEW when inteviewing.  I "Do LabVIEW" for a living! Practical exams are not uncommon.  Can You whip out a vi meeting some specifications? Knowledge tests are common too- I more often correct the answer keys rather than get a answer wrong.

So, I once was challenged with EACH of a written exam and a practical exam.... the code fit on a bussiness card and I posted a u-Nugget about "Ignore errors inside property nodes" that week.  I Also ate "Tommato Basil" soup for lunch while wearing a white dress shirt that day.

SO, Are you any good?---- I might need an intern

Is it okay to just open up an example for these practical tests?

I have to set up a lot of simple proof of concepts or tests for people and it's usually just a modified example, especially for multifunction DAQ or CAN.

Depends on the job. For an intern or entry level where no/little experience is required, that might be enough. I usually expect some actual programming to be done.
