Labview Licence runtime only?

  • Issue: I have an older computer with a National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW Runtime Engine (RTE) from 2013 (NI 2013 RTE) installed. I am also using a functional data acquisition (DAQ) device (or PLC).
  • Question: I would like to know if I can run a 2013 NI LabVIEW runtime file with the existing NI 2013 RTE without a current license or subscription. To clarify, I only intend to execute the program, not modify it in any way.

The License is not required for  NI LabVIEW runtime. The only development environment needs to be licensed as well as some toolkits and according Run-Times like Vision Development or OPC UA. But "pure" naked LabVIEW Run-Time is "free".

Thank you.

You're welcome!

Refer to NI Software Subscription and Application Deployment:

"A perpetual run-time engine license is free and is not affected by subscription. For instance, if you deploy an executable to your end user and decide not to renew your subscription, your end user application will not be affected"
