Labview installation trouble

Dear All

I was using LabView(8.2.1) on a windows XP but at some point it stopped working and since then whatever I tried to uninstall and reinstall the national instrument package from my computer something went wrong. Apparently, there is a problem regarding LabView drivers interface with DAQmx because there is always a process of an EXE file called "nimxs" which takes 50% of CPU resources and does not conclude its task.
I noticed that there was a virus "Mal/AutoInfo-A" which was removed from my computer I thought may be it caused the problem but even after the virus removal the problem is still there.
I was wondering if may be one of you had such an experience before and know how to resolve it?

Do you mean to say you still have problem after you tried reinstalling labVIEW?

Yes! Reinstallation process can not be finished thoroughly and it stops during installation. All the time it is "nimxs" which makes the problem by taking 50% CPU resource.

Can you "kill" the the  nimxs process with with its id in task manager?

I tried to remove all the remainder of national instrument files from my computer and I also deleted some of registary entries related tonational instrumnet but now the problem is even worse because LabView can not be installed at all and installer just jumps over the installation process and gives an error message:

"Window SDK returns an error (Error code -12) the system can not find the file specified"

 

I am totally confused now!

Are you trying to reinstall it from a network source or a cd?
