Hello,
I am trying to install Labview 2021 SP1 to work on a school project but I seem to encounter some issue. My school provided me with a serial number that works for the 2025 Q1 version but when I try to install The 2021 SP1 one I get an error message telling me that I have no right to use it.
I asked my teachers and they all told me that it should be working, one of them also asked NI engineers via "submit a request" and the answer he got was that it should be working.
I can't submit a request myself since I don't have the necessary contract so I'm turning to you guys to help me.
I find it strange that I can freely use the 2025 version but not an anterior one as the 2021SP1 (that is the one compatible with my compactRIO robot), does someone have an idea to resolve this ?

I don't know anything about academic license program of NI... but I'm not sure that a licence for 2025 also works for 2021.

Well yeah that's the only explanation for me. The thing I forgot to mention is that we are using the 2021 version at school and it's supposedly the same serial number that I'm using which contribute to my lack of understanding...

The license is for the current version as of when the license was bought and anything older. If it works for 2025Q1, it should work with 2021.

All right then would you have any idea as to what I can do to resolve this issue ?
Because it doesn't work for me and I can't send a request because of the "service contract". Am I not suppose to have this option if I have an active license (which I do even though it's not for the version I need...) ?

Talk to the Admin of your Academic License. Your IT department should know how to handle license issues…
