Little Bug

Hi, not really a serious bug, just a little annoying!

Just finshed installing 8.20, and I have noticed that when drawing a selection frame in the block diagram, the frame can start at a point detached from the cursor!

I think this happens when I use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down the block diagram, and then immediately draw a selection frame.

Anyone else suffer from this?

Same on my computer: LV8.20 with W2k. The draw frame is somewhere on the screen where its not supposed to be, but the items are selected correctly.

This was first discussed here.

NI knows about it, so it should get fixed eventually 🙂

I have seen the same problem with the scroll wheel pointer drifting from its expected location. The workaround for now is to put the cursor over another object (on or off screen), after using the scroll wheel. This action resets the cursor pointer. It will now select objects as expected, until you use the scroll wheel again. The cursor drift error is equal to the number of scroll wheel clicks times the number of "lines" per click, times the pixel size of your current font setting, and in the direction of the "clicks". The "Lines per click" is set in the mouse properties menu in the Windows "System" folder. This bug is just annoying, and the workaround is easy.

Hi,

This problem has been acknowledged by NI and has been fixed in LabVIEW 8.5. However, in 8.2.1, the selection is still as expected although it does not appear to be so by the selection box. (just in case anyone wanted to know)

Regards,
