I have a VB applicatio that I need to call from VI, but am unable to locate the System Exec.vi. I have looked under functions->communications, but only find serial functions (write,read,initialize). I am using Labview V5.1.
I just checked on an old system we have running 5.1. System Exec.vi is in the Communications palette. The path to it is C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Labview\vi.lib\Utility\system.llb\System Exec.vi.
If you get a chance, upgrade to 6.1! There are a lot of productivity and debugging enhancements that are well worth it.
