Low and unstable frame rate in imaqdx

Hi,

I'm using imaqdx 4.0, labview 2010 to take images from two usb cameras (Thorlabs DCC1545m). The frame rate is configured at 10 fps in MAX, but the real frame rate apparently cannot reach this number when I use grab functions in MAX--it was slow and unstable. The frame rate was monitored to be varying from 0.5 to 5 (average is ~1.5 fps) in NI Vision Acquisition Express.

When I unplug one camera, the frame rate didn't change at all in MAX/NI Vision Acquisition Express. When I use VIs from the manufacturer (uc480 panel), the frame rate was good (10fps and stable). However, I still need to fix this problem in imaqdx since I'm not able to control both cameras together with UC480 functions.

The computer is a DELL laptop, 32bits, Windows7 OS.

Please let me know if you have any suggestion/comment.

Regards,

Jie

Hi JYang,

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the USB cameras?

Also, it might be a useful troubleshooting step to try starting MAX with just one camera plugged in instead of starting with two and unplugging one later. Then you could be certain if the issue is related to running two cameras.
