I decided yesterday to use the Machine GUID instead of the MAC address.
I would definately like to configure a licence server as you have described but will never get the time. Be interested in anybodies code postings.

Regardless of any failures of attendees in this thread in regard to netiquette, i want to point out that shading component or connection information is known as spoofing. Spoofing can be done on MAC, IP, ARP and other (network) identifiers.
This is something known for many years now and shows (again) that google is your friend in order to find out if certain specs of a system are reliable for "security mechanisms". So i am pondering why we have such a strange thread on the NI forum if the topic is not related to NI in any ways......
