MAX 3.1.1 DOES NOT RECOGNIZE SCC-68 I/O CONNECTOR

hi All,

I'm Using LabVIEW 7.0 to build an application which involves two cards a DAQ PCI-6221and a PCI-6521 Relay card and one SCC-68 connector block.
those boards only works with DAQmx as I was able to read on the card's manual and this was confirmed with NI support team.
because I'm using LV 7.0 I was forced to use the version 7.5 of DAQmx wich installs the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) version 3.1.1.

the problem is when I try to set up the connector block attached to the 6221 under MAX, the SCC-68 does not appear as an option, only appears SCB-68.

I need to have attached the SCC-68 to the card because I am going to use an SCC-SG24 over it.

do i need to change the version of MAX to a one that supports the SCC-68 but at the same time works with DAQmx 7.5???

is MAX available for download at NI web page???

any suggestion.

Hi,

The DAQmx version is the driver we need to update for the SCC-68 to be supported. See this discussion forum. Based on this KnowledgeBase, you should be able to install DAQmx version 8.1 with LabVIEW 7.0. MAX is not a separate installer and can be upgraded by upgrading one of the NI drivers.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Have a great day!

thanks.

Hi anyone

I am trying to measure the voltage from an NI SCC-68 on Labview. I have done so using Automation and explorer and I get a stable ouput voltage from a battery. But I do exactly the same thing in Labview using a DAQ assistant to open up Automation and explorer and it just returns a sinusoidal signal. Even more, although it says it is a physical channel, it does not react to the board at all. For example it is quite happy to get a measurement when the standalone machine which the SCC-68 is connected to is turned off.

Hello Sammy_G,

Thanks for your post!

I see that you are having some problems getting your DAQ assistant to show the values correctly in LabVIEW. Since you were able to get the correct voltage to show up in the test panels in MAX I would like to ask what configuration do you have it set up for. In MAX the default should be "Differential". Is this how you set up your DAQ assistant. Make sure that these are the same so you can read them. Also what pins do you have the signal coming in on. Let us know if this information helps you and what your findings are.

Also this looks like a different issue than the issue above so its always best to create a new thread to keep track of the different issues Smiley Happy

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply. In the end my supervisor found that we were actually looking at the virtual channels in Labview and he has now fixed it.
