I've installed (and re-installed) MAX in order to communicate with hardware via a GPIB-USB-HS cable. The software starts up okay and recognizes the connected hardware. Everything seems to be okay, but when the menu (File, Tools, etc) is selected, an error results. The software crashes and I'm faced with a Windows "Report Error" window.
The driver I have installed is: NI-488.2 2.5 (the file name is ni488222.exe).
I have the latest version of Labview (Trial).
Also, when I was reinstalling MAX, I made sure to turn off the firewall and any running programs. I'm not sure if I did this the first time I installed MAX. I did
not reinstall LabView when I was reinstalling MAX.
I've attached two pictures showing the "before/after" of the situation.
Thanks,
Alex
edit: My hardware is Agilent OSA (86140 series) with a port at the back that says "HP-IB". The cord I'm using is NI GPIB-USB-HS. My OS is Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 and the PC is Pentium 4.
