MAX error: CmxProviderWrapper::BindPrimary function

Hello,

I'm asking for help because it is my 3rd reinstallation and I can't get rid out of this error.

I was trying to compile FPGA VI and I had some problems so I decided to reinstall all NI Software. Since then every time I install LabVIEW I'm given:

The niRemPXI.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxProviderWrapper::BindPrimary function in the NIMax process.

MAX just hangs out and I can't click anything.

I installed LabVIEW from NI site once, and I installed it from NI LabVIEW 2012 Evaluation DVDs twice.

Before installation I removed NI Software, cleaned registers (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\National Instruments. I didn't find anything to remove in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ or \ISA containing any keys with 1093 in them.). I removed NI folders from Program Files and from ProgramData. MSI Blast didn't see anything then.

I had installed LabVIEW 2012 in the past and I never had have this error, but from the first time it occured, it keeps showing.

As I can't click anything in MAX, I copied report to the txt file that I attached.

What could I do? I need to use hardware so MAX is important.

Thank you

Dear Owca,

Please follow the steps below:

1.) Rename the version in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX to mxRmCfg.bak
2.) Restart their system
3.) Re-open MAX.
4.) If that fixes things, they can just delete that version of mxRmCfg.

If this doesn't fix the issue, please contact me about it so we can look into it further. Thanks.

Hi

I am having a similar issue. My error messages are:

The niRemPXI.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxProviderWrapper::BindPrimary function in the NIMax process.

See these files for details:

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_180211-NIMax-00001484.log

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_180211-NIMax-00001484.dmp

The niVISAui.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxProviderWrapper::Finalize function in the NIMax process.

See these files for details:

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_180213-NIMax-00001484.log

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_180213-NIMax-00001484.dmp

The exception occurred in the NIMax process in the function CmxExecutionThreadPool::DoWorkNonUI.

See these files for details:

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_181648-NIMax-0000173C.log

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MAX\Logs\20130828_181648-NIMax-0000173C.dmp

could you clarify which file you wanted to rename and which file to delete in step 1 and step 4?
