MAX hardware identification

Hello everybody,

I have a general question. When i open the Measurement & Automation Explorer window. I cant find any connected hardware under the Point "My System". The hardware is normaly listed in the device manager (I am obviously using windows.) 

What could be the reason for that?

Please provide details. What hardware? Specifics.

I cannot give you any details about the manifacturer, but I can say it is a RS232toUSB converter that tries to address a RS232 device. So at least the converter providing a COM port should appear. As far as we found out it does in Windows Device Manager but not in MAX. I heard there was an error message during installation of LabView... So this is just what I know... And do you have NI-VISA installed? What was the error message druing installation?
