MAtlab Script nodes error 1050 and 1047

I am using LV 7.1 and MatLAB 7.0. I have pasted my entire program into a MATLAB script node, however the program gives me errors 1047 and 1050.

has anyone experienced this? I'd appreciate any input.

Hi IBAHKA!

This is an issue that arose a little while ago and was directly addressed by R&D. There is a workaround for this, but what I would definitely recommend is downloading and installing the LabVIEW 7.1.1 Maintenance Release. This issue and many others have been resolved with this patch. There is a KnowledgeBase describing your exact issue. It also links to the LabVIEW 7.1.1 Maintenance Release for easy downloading.

How Can I Resolve MATLAB and Xmath Script Node Issues in LabVIEW?

Note: most of the information in the KnowledgeBase document will be irrelevant to you. All you will need to do is download and install the LabVIEW 7.1.1 Maintenance Release!

I hope this helps!

Hi Travis,
I am worning on another computer and I am getting the same errors. I have LV 7.1.1, so I'm not sure what it could be. When I installed update I was told to mass compile everything. What does that mean? Could my errors be due to that issue? SOme of my files work, but one doesn't. I have attached it- maybe you could check it out on your computer and tell me if you get the same problems.

Thanks for your time!

Hi IBAHKA!

Yes, this is probably directly related to not mass compiling your directory. So, with that being said, I would definitely recommend doing that. Here is the link to the readme file of the LV 7.1.1 Maintenance Release:
ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/labview/updates/windows/7.1.1/readme.html

Refer to the known issues section of the readme file for more information about mass compiling LabVIEW.

Hope this helps!

Travis,
Thank you for the attachment. I have read it and have two questions:
1) I have already written a few vi's in LV 7.1.1. Is this going to cause any problems with the mass compile? Should I take any extra steps?
2) My vi files are mixed with other files (text, excel, word) in folders. Are these files going to have problems during mass compile?
3) My vi's are saved in many folders. Is this a problem? Do I just choose teh maine directory that they are in and compile it, regardless of the non-vi files?

Thank you so much! You've cleared my roadblock!!!

Have a great day!

Hi IBAHKA!

1) No, having already written some VIs in LV 7.1.1 will not cause any undesired behavior
2) You don't actually have to mass compile VIs that you create. The only thing that you need to mass compile is the LabVIEW 7.1 directory (as noted in the readme file).
3) Kind of the same answer as in (2). You don't need to mass compile any of the directories that you create. The only directory that you need to mass compile is the LabVIEW 7.1 directory. This is to mass compile VIs that LabVIEW actually uses in the environment.

Hope this helps!

Travis,
I got as far as LabVIEW7.1\vi.lib, but then I found no addons\NISML. Are you aware of this happening. Am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks, Ivanka

Hi IBAHKA,

Do you have the Modulation, Sound and Vibration, or Spectral Measurements toolkits installed on your PC? The Readme file says you only have to mass compile the LabVIEW 7.1\vi.lib\addons\NISML directory if you have one of these toolkits installed!

"Complete the following steps ***IF YOU HAVE THE Modulation, Sound and Vibration, or Spectral Measurements toolkits INSTALLED***."

If you don't have any of these toolkits installed, then all you need to do is mass compile the LabVIEW 7.1 directory.

Hi Travis,
I have mass compiled, however I received a status message with a list of BAD vi's and vi's that could not be loaded. I have gone through the list and am quite confused. I am not sure what to do next. The mass compile window is still open and my options are MASS COMPILE, CANCEL and HELP. I am assuming that the mass compile was incomplete. Perhaps I did not highlight the proper directory- maybe I should have chosen the entire drive, so that I don't miss any vi's.
I have attached the error message I got. Would you mind looking at it and giving me your opinion?
THANK-YOU!
